Sunday in the studio

Blimey it's cold in this here North Wales... but at least I managed to make a start on the first of the windfarm paintings [as opposed to the earlier studies]....

... now off to the village for essential supplies...

Wednesday's work...

After a morning's fiddling about with something and nothing in particular, I decided to tackle the first marks on this...

... now it's rest time...

Tuesday supplement...

... finally made a start laying down the drawing for an idea which has been exercising my brain for a couple of weeks... a more panoramic motif than my camera will normally allow so a composite construction might provide the way...

... charcoal and chalk on canvas at present... and now study time before deciding how to progress it...

Tuesday

The glaze is now on this and I am content...

as I am with this...
... and this...

Another sunny Saturday stuck indoors...

After a week of inactivity whilst laid up with quite the most horrid virus I've ever encountered... and I won't go into the gory details of why it was made worse by a "physical" condition created by a previous surgical procedure which prevents my body dealing with such viruses in the time-honoured fashion... I have spent a little while this morning in the studio trying to catch up with work I had intended to spend time dealing with during the past week...

I have pushed this further towards resolution but the slow-drying blue [liberally knifed onto the canvas] means another period of waiting before any more marks can be considered...

... and this one, begun last Saturday, is still in the state it had reached when I was struck down by the dread virus and rendered incapable of standing up straight...

... someone whose opinion I greatly respect has insisted that I do no more work to it and, at this stage, I am inclined to agree but, as is usually the case, I need to study it at a distance before being convinced that any further marks would be superfluous.

Now fer me dinner...

Sunny Saturday morning spent in the studio

This was supposed to be the next largish painting [60cm x 80cm] which I was planning to work on, slowly and studiously over the next week or so. However... the time flew by and now I'm not sure whether any more can, in fact, be done to it...

... so now the sitting and studying begin...

Thursday supplement...

... oh and managed to make a small study after a section of the sunrise painting of earlier today...

Thursday's catch up...

Made a few more marks on a couple of pieces...

... and started work on another...

... while waiting for the large landscapes to dry...

and while I'm at it...

... I came across this recent but forgotten photograph and decided it was worth making a painting of...

Monday's sky is full of weight

... and it seemed right, therefore, that I change this somewhat...
